The new
007 Electronic Cigar is one cigar that will not be reviewed on this web site. Since we do not even review artificially
flavored cigars, there is no reason to review an artificial cigar. However, as with
flavored cigars, we can still talk about "cigars" that we do not review.
A few years ago,
electronic cigarettes from China hit the market as an alternative to tobacco cigarettes, for the apparent purpose of helping smokers kick the habit. Since cigar smokers do not (or should not) inhale, and are not addicted (for the most part) to cigars, there is little reason for a cigar smoker to buy an electronic cigar. I can see only two reasons for cigarette smokers to consider such a product: 1) To get a nicotine fix in non-smoking areas; and 2) To wean yourself off cigarettes with a larger electronic cigar (as opposed to a smaller electronic cigarette). I always compare cigar prices at several cigar retailers before making a significant purchase. Since most
retail prices have increased after the federal excise tax on cigars went up on April 1, 2009, price shopping for cigars is now a must if you want to make sure that you are still getting the lowest price on your favorite brand. Not all retailers adjusted their prices by the same amounts on or after April 1, so you cannot assume that the tobacconist who previously had the lowest price is still offering the lowest price on any particular brand.
